Sim card & Internet

Access to the internet is an essential necessity for tourists traveling abroad. In Thailand, there are 3 mobile network service providers to choose from: AIS, DTAC, and TRUE.
Tourist SIM cards can be purchased at the customer service counter at the airport upon landing. If you miss the chance to buy one at the airport, you will need to get it at a carrier service center in the city.
Let’s take a look at the offerings from each network!

AIS
AIS is the mobile phone company with the most users in Thailand. And according to the survey results, it’s the network that provides the smoothest 5G service.
Their tourist promotions are as follows:

TRUE
TRUE is the mobile network with the second-highest number of users, providing 5G service with the greatest coverage in Thailand.
Their tourist offerings are as follows:

DTAC
DTAC is the best mobile network for watching videos. It’s actually merged with the TRUE network, but still uses the DTAC branding for marketing. This network has eSIM services available to purchase before traveling to Thailand.

Conclusion
If you come for a short period, it’s recommended to use an 8-day SIM card. All three networks are priced the same at 299 baht. The maximum full speed in the 15 GB quota is the same. If you manage to use the entire full-speed quota, the speed will be reduced to 384 Kbps. When you buy a tourist SIM card, you will also get travel accident insurance.
For the most stable network with wide coverage, together with free WIFI in selected zones, we suggest AIS.
For those who want unlimited usage for both internet surfing and making calls, we recommend TRUE.
And if anyone wants to buy before traveling and use the eSIM type, then DTAC is a recommended choice.
Don’t forget to fill in the registration form after you get a sim card to get FREE insurance.
Most Tourist SIM cards often come with accident insurance included- but you need to register first. You must register via the SIM card service provider’s channels. The insurance will cover injuries by accident and flight delay.
